Eccles Coins and Banknotes has been owned and run by Peter Eccles for more than fifty years, earning the trust of Auckland collectors along the way, from first time buyers picking out a birth year coin to seasoned numismatists filling the last gap in a set. We believe collecting should feel welcoming, not intimidating.

A few common questions
Do I need an appointment?
No, walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. If you are bringing in a large collection, a quick call ahead helps us set aside the time to go through it properly.
Do you buy collections as well as sell?
Yes. We purchase individual coins and banknotes as well as full collections, including inherited items you may not know much about yet.
Will you tell me what something is worth, even if I am not selling?
Absolutely. Many visitors come in just to understand what they have. There is never any obligation to sell.
